Web Design, SEO and Graphic Design

by My Business Package UK.

Welcome to my blog all about Graphic Design and how this skill relates to Signage and Web Design in today's modern world.

Hold on.... in today's modern world doesn't count because this is an update to my Blog i made over 10 years ago!!!

So, i made a company called KC Graphics Studio many years ago, this was a blog from back then. I recently noticed it was still live, and discovered i had access still! so i have updated the details to bring this info over to my present company "My Business Package"

The reason i have done this is to show some genuine content i wrote back in 2012 relating to web design and graphics.
The reason i wanted to show you, was to prove how much "SEO" has a foundation of rules and back over 10 years ago, when i wrote this, the description still would apply today! although Google has changed so much since then.

Proof for the SEO experts out there, that doing the right thing and keeping to the User Friendly SEO tactics to ensure the user is getting the best of the content, not the search engine, will give you solid results that rank well and stay there!

Anyway here you are, this was written a long time ago so keep that in mind lol.

(i had to update some links so they now point to my up to date website)

Graphics are useful in many different ways and come in many different forms, they can attract attention, illustrate points that are difficult to explain in words and in many ways some graphics tells you more of a story, then an essay of a thousand words could!

I have always been into art and design as far back as i can remember, i am just glad i carried it through to a career that i enjoy doing and have great passion for.
Today i serve many services and as you are reading this blog you must have at least a slight interest in graphic design so you will know that there is many services you can supply through this skill.
Here is a couple of the main services i supply - Web Design | Signage | SEO | Graphic Design

Web design is mainly created through HTML which is a markup language the Internet reads to show the web pages over the world wide web, and although you would not have much luck without html, you also would not have much to look at without graphics, so graphics are a big part in web design just as much as they are anywhere else.

If you went onto a web site and they had just columns of text you would find it quite boring and some people may even leave the site and move onto another due to the instant bland look of the page.
With graphics added to it, the page is instantly a lot more likeable and will be more pleasant to read and the user will soak up the information a lot easier through the breakup of graphics and images.

SEO - Having a website is not the end of it, no good having a website when nobody can see it! what is the point of that? how do you see it? well that's where SEO comes into play.

SEO is a complex task that never stops. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation, so you are optimising your website to search engines.

This involves many things, too many to list, but there is a basic list you must follow to ensure your website is compliant to Google and ranks well when being searched for your service/product.

Make sure you relate everything!! so for example, if you are selling "White trainers" then make sure the phrase "white trainers" is in your domain - this isn't a must, but a massive help!

Also, put it in your Titles, your tags, your descriptions, all your content sections. If you have 5 sections on your website, then make sure "white trainers" is mentioned in each of them.

Do not over do the words your looking to rank for, this will cause the opposite effect and have your rankings drop for keyword spamming.

Pictures should have alt tags, this tell users that use light running software and they do not see pictures they just see text explaining what is here in place of the picture. This makes alt description important otherwise users that are not seeing images will not understand the web page.

There is so much to SEO but i will make a new blog seperate to that in the future.
Remember to stick to your related product/ service when creating content and you should be ok!

Signage traditionally used to be done by hand, the graphic of the requested product would be stencilled out and hand painted which today is still a very skillful talent.
Nowadays this kind of talent just has no place in the signage industry due to the highly advanced state this service is now.

With high tech machines and computers working together to create some amazing pieces of work. Although even though these machines and computer programs are so well advanced you would not have any decent work created without graphically designing this, and this is a skill not to be taken lightly.

Anyone out there that is in that position will be highly passionate about their work or they should not be doing it as this isn't a look at the clock day job.

Graphic design is a very technical but rewarding skill which i enjoy doing, and I'm so lucky to be blessed with this skill and i don't see it as a job, it's more of a hobby i get paid for! how cool is that.
I believe you should do what you enjoy in life, don't follow the money, follow the passion.

The digital print business is highly graphical and with a great imagination you can create some crazy looking artwork, and have it digitally printed in any size you like.
Images can sometimes say more than words in the space it uses.

This is where a company logo becomes very important, and is thought through in depth, the logo of a business is not just a sign it is your image and it Shows your business from start to finish.

Logos have to be able to be seen clearly and have to be recognised easily, if this is done well, then you'll notice trust me.
Let's say you are driving down the road at 30mph (yes, you're doing 30 ok...), and in a distance you see this big yellow (golden) "M", you know instantly, without even thinking, your brain automatically tells you there is a MCDonald's coming up!

Great i was feeling hungry!

or was you?

Maybe because you saw that sign you just thought about it and pulled in, went through the drive thru, and got your BIG MAC meal! and they just made a sale.

Now without that big "M" being so recognised you would have never known about it and never would of got that meal, and probably wasn't even that hungry in the first place.

That is a fine example of how a great thought logo, even though it is so simple, has a big impact.

Like Nike for example, you see that swoosh and you know what it is, it's the sports brand, not to mention the Apple icon, who doesn't have one of them somewhere at home!

You see, a simple graphic can do such wonders if it is thought out correctly and created well, as you can see these examples i have used of logos are all simple, but you have many that are the complete opposite but still have the same effect, just be careful when planning it out though, and make sure it relates to what you are doing.

Happy Designing and thanks for reading i hope it helped you!
